To be honest, when I first opened the box I was a little disappointed in the appearance of this gun. It has a satin finish on very plain looking walnut. Now understand that my other O/U is a Browning Citori Crossover Target which has better looking walnut with a high gloss finish. Why did I buy this gun when I already have an excellent gun with the Browning? The Franchi has great lines and looks a feels slimmer than the Browning. The Browning just feels more chunky to me.The Franchi just feels and fits me better. It is a little lighter at 8lbs .6oz, Browning 8lbs 2.7oz. The receiver height is 2.53″ compared to 2.7″. Both have adjustable LOP triggers that give you a range of 14 3/8″ to 14 3/4″. Both have a nice right hand palm grip swell . Balance is about 1/4″ in front of the barrel hinge pins. The adjustable comb can also help tailor fit this gun to you. The trigger feels very good and is mechanical, rather than recoil operated. You get 3 extended choke tubes with the gun, Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder, a set of 5 would have been better. The action is a little tight but I’m sure it will break in just fine. The gun shoots very well, is easy to point and swing, recoil is not excessive, even with 1 1/8oz loads. All in All, this gun has grown on me. I’m even starting to like the satin finish on the wood. At $1,200 this is alot of gun for the money and worth every penny. Yeah, I’m keeping it! Looks like my Browning will be finding it’s way over to Gun Broker.

Excellent shotgun! I purchased at Shoot Straight for specifically for sporting clays and and upcoming Pheasant hunt in South Dakota. The 30” ported barrels and light weight frame made for a wonderful shooting experience while carrying the gun all day. Easy swing and target acquisition provided very productive hunt. I enjoyed practicing with sporting clays but absolutely fell in love with my Franchi Instinct Sporting in the fields! I will be adjusting the comb to tailor the fit of this gun.
