This P380 (KP3834) is my second “P” series Kahr pistol and I like it much, (I also have the P9) and they both work very well. Kahr pistols do require a break-in period which I found I was able shorten by hand racking the slide a few hundred times in order to work the springs in. I’ll tell you that it takes good hand strength to push the slide back but it’s not overly difficult when you grip it tight. I’ve shot several micro 380s and the Kahr P380 has the best recoil pulse of them all. Seems they engineered a good combination of grip angle, grip function, recoil spring tension and slide weight to effect a recoil pulse that comes straight back into the web of my hand with out getting as jumpy as other brands of micros. Certainly works for me. Thanks Kahr, job well done with good build quality and engineering.

I have oned this gun since 4/2020 I now have put over 1500+ rounds through it and after about 200 rounds the slide got a lot easier to slide, like most 380’s it is fussy about the ammo you buy, some times on the recoil it does not go all the way back so you have toratchet it back and let go. I also kept ratcheting while watching TV and also keeping it ratcheted back overnight that also loosened the slide, I really enjoy using this gun at the range.

Bought 3, tested my carry P380 at the range.
100 rounds of Precision One 100 grain FMJ
22 rounds of Underwood +P 90 grain Gold Dots
First 22 rounds were Underwood, after the first round I had a FTF, it didn’t chamber, I unloaded the mag and pulled the slide back a little and let it chamber the round then I loaded the mag back in the gun. The rest of the mag fired without issue for all 21 other Underwood rounds.
I had a FTE on my first mag of Precision One, just one, then one more had a FTF and got stuck.
I only had 3 failures in 122 rounds and this was the first time shooting the gun.
After those 3 failures in the first two magazines, I fired 15 full magazines with zero issues at all, I was allowed to rapid fire at the range as well, the trigger is excellent I would say 4.3 lbs, the sights are also excellent as well as the ergonomics and natural point of aim.
I put the target at 3 yards since that is the most likely defensive shooting distance, all shots were relatively in the same 3×3 or 4×4 area, I had ZERO fliers even when rapid firing, all shots on target in critical areas.
I love this gun and I am glad that I purchased them, I absolutely trust this gun to perform it’s job if I need to use it. With the excellent sights, ergonomics and trigger, quickly getting multiple accurate shots on target is easy.
