Credit Cards & Payment

Having trouble with your credit card or payment info?
Your card might be declined for various reasons. Please check to make sure that the name and address entered in the “Billing Information” field are entered exactly as this information appears on the statements you receive from the issuing bank or financial institution. Also, confirm that the credit card number, expiration date and card verification number are correct. If this doesn’t work, please contact your issuing bank or financial institution to verify your information, and make sure there are no holds placed on your account.

Will I be charged sales tax?
Shoot Straight has to charge sales tax on orders in Florida as we have a fulfillment location here. If it were up to us there would be no taxes but we don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Is your site secure?
Your ecommerce transactions occuring within our site use industry-standard SSL encryption. If you have questions about secure commerce, please contact us using our contact page.

I can’t add more than one item to my shopping cart. What’s going on?
If you can’t add more than one item to your shopping cart, you probably need to enable cookies on your web browser. Cookies, small bits of information stored on your computer by your web browser, do not contain personal information or otherwise compromise your privacy. If enabling cookies doesn’t work, you can try accessing the site with a different browser.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We do not accept payment by check, money order or purchase order, and we do not accept orders through the mail. Please note that online orders may be executed with real-time credit card processing, and your card may be charged before your order ships.

What is the “card verification number”?
If you’re paying with Visa, Mastercard or Discover, you must provide the credit card verification number in order to place your order. This is the three-digit number located on the far right side of the signature line, on the back of your card. If you cannot read this number on your card, please contact your issuing bank or financial institution. We cannot accept orders without this number.

There seems to be an issue with my credit card, but I don’t think there’s a problem with it. What’s going on?

Is my personal information kept private?
We do not resell or distribute your addresses, phone number, email address or any other personal information to anyone. Your phone number and email address will only be used if we, or the courier delivering your package, need to contact you with a question about your order.

Order Changes

Can I change or cancel my order after it is placed?
We process orders very quickly in order to ensure the fastest delivery possible. Because of this, we usually cannot change or cancel your order once it has been submitted. Please be sure to check all information very carefully before placing your order. If you discover a mistake, please contact us at 407-889-0842 and ask for online sales or 321-396-3108 directly to let us know ASAP.

My order has already shipped. Can I have the delivery address changed?
We cannot change the shipping address for orders that have already gone out. FedEx can occasionally change the shipping address, but not very often. You can contact us at [email protected], with your tracking number, and we will call them and see if your address can be changed, but the chances they’ll be able to do it are low, and changing the address will almost always delay the delivery for a few days.

What happens if I order something out of stock?
We work hard to prevent this from happening. Occasionally, however, orders will slip through that contain out-of-stock items. In these instances, we reserve the right to cancel either the out-of-stock item(s) or your entire order; we will, of course, also issue a refund to your credit card for any items we cannot ship. We will also contact you to let you know that we have modified your order.

Product Info & Availability

Your website says you have the item in stock but it’s not in my local store.
The website inventory is a reflection of our warehouse stock. It does not take into account individual stores stock of an item. Please call your local store before visiting to confirm they have the item, you’re looking for, in stock.

What happens if I order something out of stock?
We work hard to prevent this from happening. Occasionally, however, orders will slip through that contain out-of-stock items. In these instances, we reserve the right to cancel either the out-of-stock item(s) or your entire order; we will, of course, also issue a refund to your credit card for any items we cannot ship. We will also contact you to let you know that we have modified your order.

Firearms & Ammunition Purchases

How old do I have to be to purchase a gun?
You must be 21 years old to purchase any gun. Please note that the merchandise sold in our stores is only for adults and is not suitable for minors. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult within our stores and ranges.

How much does an FFL transfer cost, and how long does it take?
Transfer fees vary from one gun shop to another, and from one part of the country to the next. Shoot Straight charges $25 for every gun transfer. The general range from other dealers will be between $20 and $70. The transfer of a gun can take as little as 3 days or more than 3 weeks, depending on how quickly each party receives the required paperwork.

Firearms and Ammunition Returns
Shoot Straight does not accept returns of firearms (and ammunition) after they have been transferred to the consumer. Both types of items can be susceptible to tampering or damage once they have been transferred to the end-user. Therefore, when a firearm or any ammunition is transferred to the consumer (you), it is considered used, even if unfired, and consequently cannot be returned. Firearms found to be damaged or defective, prior to the transfer, are returnable according to the conditions stated below. All ammunition is non-returnable and non-refundable, without exception. Before you proceed with an online firearm purchase, please review the order thoroughly to make sure it is the correct item and is deliverable by law to us, Shoot Straight. If the wrong firearm is sent to Shoot Straight/you, it must be refused, or returned within 15 days, given the firearm never left the hands of the dealer. Once it is transferred into your hands, it cannot be returned. Please note that we do not reimburse any background check and/or transfer fees charged by the FFL dealer that transfers the firearm to you. Those transactions must be negotiated between the FFL dealer and yourself. All un-transferred firearm returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee. The restocking fee can only be waived by the Manager, under very limited conditions.

Damaged or Defective Firearms

BEFORE THE FIREARM(S) IS TRANSFERRED TO YOU:
Firearm returns can be accepted for those found to be damaged or defective immediately upon receipt by the dealer, but before the transfer to the consumer (you) takes place. It is very important that you take your time to thoroughly inspect your firearm(s) BEFORE proceeding with the transfer. Once a firearm has been transferred to you, it CANNOT be returned to Shoot Straight. If the defect(s) is found BEFORE the transfer, then Shoot Straight will do an equal replacement of the firearm (subject to availability and applicable fees). Shoot Straight will not refund the shipping or transfer fees originally incurred on the purchase; however, we will cover return shipping fees/costs. If purchased through an online FFL dealer, damaged or defective firearms must be returned to the FFL dealer within 15 days, or a 25% restocking fee will be charged to the consumer. If purchased from Shoot Straight, damaged or defective firearms must be returned to us before leaving the store on the date of the transfer.

AFTER THE FIREARM(S) IS TRANSFERRED TO YOU:
Once a firearm has been transferred to the consumer (you), it CANNOT be returned to Shoot Straight. After the transfer, Shoot Straight cannot refund the purchase price. We understand that some manufacturer defects/problems may not be identifiable upon initial inspection. However, if the defect(s) is found AFTER the transfer, the firearm must be returned directly to the manufacturer for replacement or repair, subject to that manufacturer’s policies. Shoot Straight will help you by providing contact information to firearm manufacturers, to facilitate any warranty repairs or returns to them. By sending a defective firearm directly to the manufacturer, you can avoid the unnecessary shipping and transfer fees of any attempt to return the firearm to us.

General Merchandise – Other Than Firearms or Ammunition
Here at Shoot Straight we want you to be 110% happy with your order. If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, for any reason, please return the item(s) for an exchange or refund. All returns of non-firearms/non-ammo must be made within 14 days of receiving your order. We don’t accept returns or exchanges after the 14-day period. All returned items must be in the original condition you received them in. We do NOT accept blemished items for return or exchange. This includes products that were OPENED and USED. Note that the shipping fee is not refundable, which includes shipment to you and the return shipping. Before returning an item please call us at 321-396-3108. This way we can send you an RMA shipping label and keep proper track of your return.

Please return the items in the original shipping container with original packing materials and confirm that the label returns to:

  • All returns require a 1-2 week processing period.
  • We are not responsible for items lost in transit.

General Merchandise – Other Than Firearms or Ammunition
Every non-firearm/non-ammo purchase at Shoot Straight has a 30-Day Guaranteed Inspection Period. During this time frame, we urge you to thoroughly examine your purchase. If you are not satisfied, you may return most non-firearm/non-ammo merchandise, purchased within 30 days if it is – unused, in the original package and in new condition, for your choice of:

  • Store credit/gift card
  • Equal exchange
  • Refund 25% restocking fee

For your shopping ease and convenience, items purchased from October 30 to December 31 can be returned up to January 31, to accommodate early holiday shoppers.

Shipping & Delivery Info

When will my order ship out?
Most orders of in-stock merchandise ship out the business day following order placement but may take as long as 3-5 business days. We do not ship on weekends or on these US holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.

How quickly are orders delivered after shipment?
Once your order leaves our warehouse, the Shipping Method you select determines how quickly the order will arrive to your doorstep.

DOMESTIC (US) SHIPPING METHODS:
FedEx Ground – 3-7 business days for delivery
FedEx 2-Day – Delivers within 2 business days of shipment.
FedEx Standard Overnight – Delivers within 1 business day of shipment.

Remember that our warehouse requires one business day for order processing and FedEx does NOT count the day it receives shipping information as a “business day”. Thus, expect a FedEx Standard Overnight shipment to arrive 2 business days after the order was placed. For 2-Day, look for the package after 3 business days. Orders shipped via FedEx will not be delivered on Saturday, Sunday, or national holidays.

*Note that FedEx does not ship to PO Boxes.

Can I get my package delivered on the weekend?
No, we do not offer weekend delivery.

How much do the different shipping methods cost?
These vary based on the weight of the items in your order. Rates are calculated before checkout is complete, so feel free to try multiple methods for the best fit.

Can you tell FedEx to leave my order on my porch if I’m not home to receive it?
The decision on whether to leave a package outside your home belongs to the FedEx driver. Most likely, if you’re not home, the driver will leave the package in a safe location, if one is available. We don’t have any way of instructing the FedEx driver to leave your package by your house if you’re not in, however; the decision is theirs. If your purchase exceeds a certain dollar amount, a signature may be required for delivery. To find out, please check your tracking information on the FedEx website. If a signature is required, the package cannot be left at the residence without a signature.

Does FedEx expedited shipping come with a guarantee?
If your order arrives later than it should have, please contact us via the customer service web form. We are not responsible for delivery delays caused by inclement weather. Please keep in mind that FedEx expedited shipping refers to the time in shipping, and not the total time it will take to receive your order. All orders require a processing period of 1 business day – so if you place an Overnight order for an in-stock item on Friday, it will probably ship out on the following Monday and arrive on Tuesday.

Can I place an order and pick it up at your warehouse?
All orders must be shipped or selected to pickup at one of our local stores.

What delivery methods do you offer, and how long do they take?

DOMESTIC (US) SHIPPING METHODS:
Local Pickup – Please see below for local pickup delivery times.
FedEx Ground – 3-7 business days for delivery
FedEx 2-Day – Delivers within 2 business days of shipment.
FedEx Standard Overnight – Delivers within 1 business day of shipment.

How does your local pickup option work?
The local pickup option tells us that you want the gun picked up locally at the store of your choice. This option is free but the time in which is takes to get there will depend solely on both when the order comes through and which store is chosen. Delivery time approximations for each of our stores are below:

  • Apopka – Usually within 1 or 2 days of order placement.
  • Casselberry -These stores usually get delivered on Mondays or Tuesdays.
  • West Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale – These stores usually get delivered on Tuesdays.
  • Clearwater, Ft. Myers, Lakeland, Sarasota, and Tampa – These stores usually get delivered on Wednesdays.
  • ****Delivery days do not necessarily mean available pickup days. Your gun most likely will not be available for pickup until the day following a delivery to the store. Please give them at least 24 hrs after arrival to process everything before calling or going in.

In order to ensure your order makes it on the delivery truck, please place the order no later than 12 noon on the day before the delivery to that store. Any orders placed after 12 noon cannot be guaranteed to make it on the delivery truck that week.
