The Glock 17 Gen 5, 17 Round Semi Auto Handgun, 9mm is a full sized handgun, is the perfect personal defense firearm for law enforcement, firearm enthusiasts, and first time buyers. Chambered in 9mm, the G17 Gen 5 9×19 features Glock’s latest dual recoil assembly, a reversible magazine release for left or right handed shooters, and new modular back straps — perfect for beginners and small handed shooters, the back straps permit more control. The G17 Gen 5 keeps the Glock accessory rail for attachments. The Glock 17 Gen 5 now includes Glock’s Marksman barrel; using traditional “lanes and grooves” rifling vs the polygonal style found on previous models. An ambidextrous slide stop is now standard for all Gen 5 models, as well as the improved nDLC finish on the slide. Glock now has taken the finger grooves off of the frame, reminiscent of the Glock Gen 1 and Gen 2 pistols. These changes deliver improved accuracy, durability, performance, control, and flexibility in both low-stress and high-stress situations.
