“Ten bullets through one hole” was the philosophy of Joyce Hornady, the company’s founder. This great idea of accuracy and perfection has continued from the first bullet made more than sixty years ago, right through today.
Like so many successful companies, Hornady Manufacturing was born out of one man’s vision of a better product for his own use. Joyce Hornady was an avid shooter and needed a steady supply of good, accurate bullets. While commercially available bullets were usable, Joyce felt that better bullets could be made.
High Performance Hornady Bullets
All Hornady 38 Special Custom pistol ammo is loaded with the famous Hornady XTP (Extreme Terminal Performance) bullet, which are supremely accurate, and deliver maximum knockdown power.
Select Cases
Hornady produces most of the brass for Hornady Custom pistol ammo. All other brass is chosen to ensure it meets our unusually high standards for reliable feeding, corrosion resistance, proper hardness and the ability to withstand maximum chamber pressures.
Powder
Each cartridge is loaded to ensure optimal pressure, velocity and consistency from lot to lot.
Primers
Like the powder, each primer is carefully matched to individual loads, and specifically selected for their ability to quickly, completely, and reliably ignite the powder charge.
