This is a very sweet firearm! I took mine to the range for its first session to test accuracy and to see if this firearm was picky about ammo. I am very pleased to report that out of 17 different 22 LR options I took it failed to operate extremely reliably on only 2 – Aguila Super Maximum Hyper Velocity solid point and Winchester Super X Hyper Velocity Hollow Point Copper Plated 1435 fps. CCI Stingers, Mini Mag (both solid and hollow point) and CCI Select and Blazer fired flawlessley. Other flawless performers were Winchester White Box 1280 fps, Remington Thunderbolt 1255 fpd, Federal Value Pack 1240 fps, Federal Game Shok No. 710 1240 fps, Aguila Super Extra 1255 fps and Aguila Interceptor (solid and hollow point) 1470 fps. I had heard reviews on Youtube that the Walther P22 was a picky firearm but it performed very well today.
What I really like about this firearm is it is dead nuts accurate out of the box and the trigger is remarkably smooth with a beautiful pull – even in DA with a rating of 11 lbs. I was concerned that this would be too stiff but it feels like an 8 lb or less trigger. It is just exemplary. This is by far the sweetest semi-auto handgun in my collection. Two thumbs way up!

I bought my Walther P22 from Shoot Straight in Tampa and like pretty much all Walther P22s, it shot dead-center perfect right out of the box each and every time. The grip and feel is just perfectly comfortable and the mix of fun and performance makes it the perfect 22LR to use for both enjoyment and protection practice. It’s all the style of James Bond with German clean and strong style and good ole American affordability; making the Walther P22, in my opinion, the 22LR handgun with the most bang for the buck. It’s just plain cool and yeah, it’s a small caliber for self protection, but you can absolutely protect yourself with a 22LR. And if you want surefire performance, comfort, and absolute accuracy with confidence in your hand when holding a weapon in a dramatic moment while using wisdom and sound moral judgement in a self-defense scenario, then the Walther P22 is the 22LR you should own. God Bless, and I hope you never have to use it for self-defense, but you may surely enjoy it for enhancing your motor skills and confidence while having plenty of timeless fun with your very own Walther P22! 🙂
